How is it performed?
A chin implant is usually placed through a small incision under the chin or from inside the mouth; cheek and malar implants are placed from inside the mouth or through a lower eyelid incision. Medical silicone or porous polyethylene implants, chosen in a size and shape to suit the facial proportions, are positioned on the bone and secured with screws if needed.
