Face/neck PRP

Applying platelet-rich plasma prepared from the patient's own blood to the skin.

In PRP treatment, a blood sample is centrifuged in special tubes to separate platelet-rich plasma, which is then applied to the skin of the face or neck. Because the patient's own blood is used, the risk of allergy is low. Several sessions are usually planned.

How is it performed?

A small amount of blood is taken from the arm and centrifuged in special tubes to separate platelet-rich plasma. The prepared plasma is applied to the skin of the face or neck in the same session with fine needles or microneedling. Preparation and application together take about half an hour to an hour.

Who is it suitable for?

  • People wishing to support skin quality
  • Those without blood disorders or blood-thinning medication
  • Those who are not pregnant or breastfeeding

Consultation and preparation

  • An examination takes place before treatment, and your expectations, medical history and any previous treatments are discussed.
  • Blood thinners, aspirin or certain supplements can increase the risk of bruising; please be sure to mention them.
  • Treatment may be postponed if there is active acne, a cold sore or infection in the area.
  • It is advisable to schedule treatment a few weeks before an important event rather than in the days just before.

Recovery

Redness and mild swelling usually settle within 1–2 days.

Aftercare advice

  • Do not massage or press on the treated area on the first day.
