Nasolabial filler

Softening the line from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth with filler.

Nasolabial filler supports the line running from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth with hyaluronic acid filler. If the line is caused by midface volume loss, the cheeks are assessed together with it.

How is it performed?

The depth and cause of the line running from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth are assessed. If the line is caused by volume loss in the midface, the cheek area may be supported first. A hyaluronic acid filler is applied beneath the line in controlled amounts with a needle or cannula.

Who is it suitable for?

  • People with prominent nasolabial lines
  • Those who are not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Those without an active infection at the treatment site

Consultation and preparation

  • An examination takes place before treatment, and your expectations, medical history and any previous treatments are discussed.
  • Blood thinners, aspirin or certain supplements can increase the risk of bruising; please be sure to mention them.
  • Treatment may be postponed if there is active acne, a cold sore or infection in the area.
  • It is advisable to schedule treatment a few weeks before an important event rather than in the days just before.

Recovery

Daily life can be resumed immediately. Mild swelling and bruising may last a few days.

Aftercare advice

  • Do not massage or press on the treated area on the first day.
  • Avoid intense exercise, saunas, steam baths and excessive heat for the first 24–48 hours.
  • Cold compresses can be used for mild swelling or bruising.
  • If you notice increasing pain, blanching or discolouration in the treated area, contact us without delay.

Possible risks and complications

  • Bruising and swelling at the injection site
  • Nodules or irregularities
  • Asymmetry
  • Vascular occlusion (rare)
  • Allergic reaction
