How is it performed?
The structure, proportions and symmetry of the lips are assessed at the consultation. A hyaluronic acid filler containing lidocaine is applied in small amounts to the lip border and body with a fine needle or cannula. The aim is to work on volume, contour or symmetry while preserving the natural form of the lips.
Who is it suitable for?
- Adults concerned about lip volume or symmetry
- Those who are not pregnant or breastfeeding
- Those without an active infection at the treatment site
Consultation and preparation
- An examination takes place before treatment, and your expectations, medical history and any previous treatments are discussed.
- Blood thinners, aspirin or certain supplements can increase the risk of bruising; please be sure to mention them.
- Treatment may be postponed if there is active acne, a cold sore or infection in the area.
- It is advisable to schedule treatment a few weeks before an important event rather than in the days just before.
Recovery
Swelling usually subsides within a few days. Make-up and strenuous exercise should be avoided on the first day.
